Stephanie Ramirez, Principal

Stephanie Ramirez oversees Copa’s public relations and marketing division.  Stephanie specializes in strategic planning; writing, media, community and public relations; and marketing communications in various industries, including retail, consumer products, commercial and residential real estate, technology, hospitality, fitness, entertainment, non-profit and public works.

Ramirez has literally worked from coast to coast and abroad in South America assisting in the development and implementation of communication programs for large multi-national companies.  From San Diego to Miami Stephanie has overseen marketing and public relations programs for clients such as Discovery Channel, Owens Corning, Nokia, Kodak, Scientific Atlanta and LG InfoComm USA.


She has been successful at securing multiple media placements for her clients in numerous industry leading newspapers, magazines and television networks such as the Wall Street Journal, San Diego Union Tribune, San Jose Mercury News, Los Angeles Times, Network World, Knoxville Business Journal, NBC and CBS.  She has represented clients on national media tours,  analyst tours and tradeshows.

Stephanie has a history of community involvement and board leadership.  She is  a former member of the board of directors for the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) San Diego County Chapter.  She co-chaired the PRSA Western Regional Conference in 2001.   She is a volunteer for and a member of the advisory board for The Restoration House of East Tennessee. Most recently, she was appointed by LUNA, The Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, to serve as the director for LunaFest Knoxville, a national traveling festival of short films by...for and about women.   This year was the first time LunaFest has made a stop in Knoxville. The proceeds benefited the Breast Cancer Fund and The Restoration House of East Tennessee.

Prior to launching Copa, Stephanie worked as a senior account executive at  Katz & Associates, where she worked on-site as a full-time community relations consultant with the City of San Diego Water Department. She was responsible for outreach to media, residents, businesses, and community and planning groups regarding the Water Department’s $773 million citywide Capital Improvements Project.  She spent four years with Cooper Iverson Marketing managing various national and local accounts. Her responsibilities included strategic program planning, writing product announcements, news releases and other corporate communications documents, coordinating, planning and participating in press and analyst tours, speakers bureau development, editorial opportunity research and daily communication with the clients' top tier media.

Stephanie also worked for the Miami-based Latin American public relations firm, The Jeffrey Group, a Shandwick International agency. There, she contributed to media cultivation throughout the Latin America region and to the writing and production of all client communication in both English and Spanish.

Stephanie graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, with an emphasis in Public Relations and a Minor in Spanish.
